Running challenges when races being cancelled

Running world turned upside down when Covid-19 hit to the world and all the spring races being cancelled. Now many race organizer also cancels the autumn marathon. That means some runners might not be able to race this year at all and might be lost their motivation as there is anything that to expect. Try to remember, that you should always train for yourself and races are just extra.

But, if your races are cancelled, there are plenty of other ideas to do this year. Many marathon arrange virtual race at the moment. Of course, virtual races are always so much harder, especially if you are running them alone, and many of runners are not that excited the idea.

Run 4 miles, every 4 hours for 48 hours

Run the number of day for a month

This is simple, run the number of the day, starting first day of the month. Basically run 1 km on the first day, 2 km on the second day, 3 km on the third day and so on. Or if you want to make even more challenging replace kilometres to miles. This is not suitable for the beginners or those who run less.

30-day run streak

Easier version than the previous one. In this version, you are running one mile every day for a month.

All distance in a month

This takes 4 consecutive weekend, the first weekend run 5 km, the second weekend run 10 km, the third weekend run half marathon and the fourth weekend run a marathon.

Strength-run-mix

Run 1 km, do 100 sit-ups, run 1 km, do 100 push-ups, run 1 km, do 100 squats, run 1 km and do 100 burpees. And of course as fast as you can.
