A lot of speculation going on about London marathon, especially who’s going to win. Many set Mo Farah and Eliud Kipchoge against each other.
There are some points of why people, especially British wait a lot for Mo, as he has enormous career in track. We have to remember that marathon is all the way different race than 10 000m or 5000m. I believe that Mo will have successful career also on marathon field, but transition from track to road can make some time.
What comes about Eliud, he has announced chase to world record, and if everything goes as planned there are very high possibility that he can break it. Even thought, if he fails the achieve world record, the time will be one of the fastest, when I don’t believe that Mo have any chance in that competition. Whereas Kenenisa Bekele would fight at the top positions, or someone other, it’s not the first time when someone have surprised and took medal.
So far, its seem that there will be bigger competition about second and third place than first.
Another, interesting watch will be Boston marathon, as Shalane Flanagan and Jordan Hasay will step on the start line. Hasay has developed a lot during couple last year, and Shalane shows her speed last year’s New York City marathon. Although no USA woman has won Boston marathon since 1985, they have started to raise their level and I believe they will give nice extra spice for the race and who knows if they even race for the medal.
